CROSSING THE CUMBERLAND

Thursday Aug. 5 marked Witchazel's debut in the music city, Nashville TN. Sometime in the late afternoon the anxious fans loaded into WitchExpress 1 and 2. Then the journey began.

Unfortunately Express 1 was not equiped with a tape or cd player, wich made the lonely strip of parkway between Lexington and Nashville seem even more barren. The lone sound of WTFX (100.5 FM the Fox)out of Louisville proved strong enough to keep the fans at bay. It slowly faded as the busses got closer to the Cumberland River. Express 1 and 2 steamed across the bridge denying yet another body of water to set boundries on the groove that is Witchazel.

9:00 pm.....Once settled at the Klub the trio only took seconds to enjoy the view overlooking the Cumberland. before inducting Kevin McDaniel into the Family. Heading last minute promotions He scoured Broadway and beyond spreading the gospel of the rockers. Not a tourist or local escaped his sermon.

10:00 pm....SHOWTIME!!-- Nashville locals, Mantis Groove, took the stage and cranked out a killer set. Then the stage was clear..the crowd silent....Now the time had come.

11:00 pm.....The demons crawled back into the river bed to give Witchazel center stage. The groove (so monsterous that it shook the windows across the street at the Hard Rock Cafe) cascaded into the streets. As well travelled as the roads of Nashville are; they surely have not seen the likes of this before. Somehow the historic city was changed.

When all was said and done Witchazel packed up and turned their busses for home. They vowed to return as soon as their schedule allows.
