FAMILIAR GROUND

After returning from their road trip to Cincinnati, Witchazel found the familiar suroundings of the Firehouse in Richmond, KY very inviting. They cranked out a set on Thursday that kept the crowd demanding more.

Witchazel found themselves sandwiched between the mighty Ugly Tree and Tommyrot. It didn't take the dark trio long to win over the audience as the force of their groove pushed out from the PA mains. It was a sound so dominating that it seemed to overtake the audible cantor that usually filled Main St Richmond. Even the street lights seemed to quietly chant "Witchazel, Witchazel".

"We hope that our abscense from the Firehouse won't last as long this time around.", were the words of front man Dave Ryles who last showed his face in the venue back on April 21. He continued, "But the road beckons us...." Witchazel will be in Nashville on Aug 5 and "a still to be confirmed Nashville show" on Sept 2. The rumors tell us to expect some Northeast Ohio shows, as well as a couple of Virginia and DC shows, although these are still in the negotiating phase.

Witchazel promises to be back in Richmond soon, and to play some of the crowd pleasers that time constraints denied them this time around. Till next time..............
