I hate you and hope to see your publication disappear into an endless void! What I am trying to say is "You Suck!!" ~Larry Flint~ |
Since its first run, on September 6, 1998, the Times has been dedicated to keeping you informed on the latest happenings at Witchazel Central. Now on the edge of extinction, we rally what creativety we have left to keep ourselves afloat!
The most obvious changes to our forum should be evident to you long time subscribers. This would be the addition of the non-threaded response column directly to the right. Now you readers are free to post your thoughts on the journalism contained in these pages. And for those extreme minimalists out there, the current weather conditions in Lexington are on the left (although we still suggest looking out your window). We have unfortunately been forced to temporarily disband the archives which contain every issue of the Times ever published. We hope that these changes prove to be a more interesting environment for your surfing pleasure. The clock still continues to approach midnite, but in any case we proudly exclaim, "We survived Y2Gay!".
But now, what you really came here to find out about.... It seems that Witchazel has been having problems with their new label, Shoot'em Where It Counts Records, putting a temporary halt to the recording of Bonescraper. This once again pushes back the release date of the band's debut CD. Witchazel represantatives refuse to speculate on a revised release date. All they have to offer us are the Mp3 files that have been promised. The release of the Mp3's are planned for early April.
We would also like to take this oppurtunity to welcome Lexmusic (www.lexmusic.com) back to the web. Lexmusic once served as home for many Lexington area bands and discussions on the web. One day they dissapeared, but now have returned. Well partialy anyway. It appears that some updating still needs to be done on the pages code. We wish them a speedy recovery. Until next time?
TORONTO (Reuters) - Backstreet Boys' music and other pop songs are being used by University of Toronto campus police to ''torture'' students into ending a sit-in in the president's office. For six days, a group of students has occupied the offices of vacationing university president Robert Prichard and other administrative staff, demanding a campus-wide ban of the sale of clothing made in Third World sweatshops. Of the 20 students who started the sit-in, eight were left Wednesday. Phones in the offices have been cut off and the students receive food from friends in a pail they pull up from the second-floor window. At night, pop music is played loudly in hopes of ``making life a little more uncomfortable,'' said Jane Stirling, a manager in the university's public affairs office, on Wednesday. ``This is probably the first time the Backstreet Boys have been deliberately used as a form of sleep deprivation torture,'' the National Post newspaper quoted protester Sonia Singh as saying.
