HALLOWEEN '00

It's that time again. The month of Monsters and Witches is upon us. Unfortunately the monstrous groove lays quiet as spirits invade the skies above the Dungeon workshop that houses the heart of Witchazel. The recent loss of drummer, Dan Barkman, and front man, Lath Motley, has definately slowed the band's efforts to a creep.

Paco and Pedro remain in high spirits as they continue to audition drummers. The band now on its soon to be third drummer since its debut on the scene in the fall of '97. "We seem to be haunted but some Spinal Tap type curse", states Paco.

Dave is expected to step back to center stage to retake the lead vocal position, as Paco has recently been heard squawking in the shower, training his voice to fill in the rich harmonies that fans have come to expect in the past year. From the short time I spent with the band for this interview, I got a strong sense that we can expect an even more aggressive onstage stance from Witchazel.

Due to pressure from the fans, the band will head straight into the studio to record a CD as soon as a replacement is found. The band feels bad about the yet to be filled promise of a CD, so they plan to release the single, "Bonescraper" sometime during the month of October. The track was the last studio recording Witchazel completed before its most recent line up change.
