Witchazel has been away for such a long time. Once again I felt it my duty to find out where they are. Also the editor here
at the Times made it clear that my job here at the Times was in jeapordy. So I set out to find the rockers. With the memory of the pummeling delivered by the rythym section at my last exclusive interview still fresh in my mind, I decided to try to reach them by phone.
I tracked them down quickly. "If not on stage then in the studio", goes the Witchazel motto. Hard at work tracking for the new demo. I first talked to their studio engineer. He told me of the mighty Norsemen of Scotland, but when asked of the progress on the demo he turned me over to Paco.
"How is the recording going?", I asked.
Paco's reply, and I quote, "Possessed woman on the phone and the pig squeals out of key! No don't hit that damn button again......the lights.....the lights.." I assumed this to be a bad report at first.
Luckily, fir this issue (and my job) the voice of reason stepped in. Dave Ryles gave me the scoop. It seems that Dave and Dan hid Paco's Budweiser during the tracking. They assured me that Paco would be back in rare form for the next show. They also claim the new demo will not hit the shelves as predicted. "we are now looking at a late January release date.", says Dan. I assume this will also delay the planned release of the CD.
Thousands of fans anxiously await the release of the demo. Even more, they crave the raw groove that only a live performance can provide. In order to satisfy the demanding fans, Witchazel has booked a show at Geek's on January 22. For all the fans that will be unable to attend due to maximum capacity limit set by the fire marshal, a show will be broadcast on WKQQ. Scheduled to be aired on Valentines Day. This Local Live broadcast at midnight is intended to be a Valentines Day card to all the faithful fans.
Until any firther devlopements, this reporter is signing off.
