VAR (Very Angry Records) executives are promising the public a fresh batch of Witchazel tracks! They estimate an updated version of the bands three song demo (containing vocals tracks from recently added singer, Lath Motley, and a slightly beefier mix) to be ready for distribution within the next four weeks. The mid-February release of the demo in cassette format will come after the MP3 files. VAR execs expect the MP3's to be on the Witchazel site by the end of January.
VAR and Witchazel will not stop there. They will continue on in the studio through Feb and March to begin recording a full length CD. The bands virgin release is scheduled to hit the shelves in Summer 2000. Behind the soundboard will be Les Campbell of Campbell Productions. Les runs what is considered to be the premeir studio to record heavy music in Lexington.
As the summer release date draws near, ther quartet will begin to again make itself more visible to the public. "We don't want a grueling tour schedule and a tight studio schedule to wear us down and result in an inferior recording" states Lath Motley. Although everyone seems to agree with this veiwpoint, the band admits that it may play an occasional show just to let the fans know that the Witchazel groove continues to roll on.
Until any further notice we all anxiously await the new MP3's, now just weeks away.
